My Story
Hello, my name is Sheree.
I am an AHPRA-registered Registered Nurse and Continence Nurse Specialist with experience supporting children, young people and families experiencing continence challenges.
My interest in paediatric continence began during my primary school nursing placements, where I saw firsthand the impact continence difficulties can have on a child’s confidence, wellbeing, participation and independence.
I have since worked as a Registered Nurse in emergency nursing and continued to develop my knowledge and experience in continence care, with a particular focus on supporting children and young people living with disability.
As both a healthcare professional and a parent of three children, including a child who is an NDIS participant, I understand some of the challenges families can face when navigating health and disability systems. This experience has given me valuable insight into the importance of finding healthcare professionals who genuinely listen, understand family life and provide support that is practical, compassionate and achievable.
Through Confident Steps Continence, I provide personalised continence assessments, individualised management plans, education, product recommendations and ongoing support for NDIS participants and their families.
My approach focuses on developing realistic strategies that fit within each family’s circumstances. I work collaboratively with participants, parents, carers, schools, support coordinators, support workers and allied health professionals to ensure recommendations are practical and able to be implemented across everyday environments.
I believe every child and young person deserves the opportunity to experience comfort, dignity and confidence in their daily life. Whether a participant is working towards greater toileting independence or requires long-term continence management, my goal is to help them achieve their highest possible level of independence while supporting their family throughout the journey.
I am registered with AHPRA and am a member of the Continence Foundation of Australia. My practice is informed by current evidence, professional nursing standards and best-practice continence care.
